How we source and score
Every verdict is traceable. Here is exactly where the information comes from and how we turn it into a red, amber, or green.
Our sources
We use peer-reviewed research and official guidance, never anonymous food lists. That includes published FODMAP measurements, food-composition databases such as USDA FoodData Central, and clinical guidance such as NICE and BDA where relevant. Each value carries the source it came from.
How we score
We apply the published thresholds to the measured values, then show a simple traffic light per food, with the specific reason underneath. Where something has not been measured, we say so rather than guessing.
What we will not do
We never say a food “heals” or “cures” anything. We report what the research measured, in plain language, and we show our working so you can check it.
Corrections
If you think a verdict or a citation is wrong, tell us and we will review it. Getting it right matters more than being fast.
